이제 미국에 갔을 때 비슷한 일이 벌어지더라도 앰뷸런스 서비스 - 서비스 좋아하네! - 는 반드시, 꼭, 거부해야겠다고 다짐한다. 따지고 보면, 공항에서 아이가 발작을 일으켜 쓰러졌을 때도 앰뷸런스를 부른 건 우리가 아니었다. 아마 공항측에서 불렀을텐데, 그 때는 경황도 없고 경험도 없어서 너희 서비스 안 받겠다고 거부할 생각을 미처 못했다. ... 심난하다.
지난 5월초, 동준이가 샌프란시스코 공항에서 발작을 일으키는 바람에 예기치 않게 미국 의료 서비스를 이용하게 됐다. 과연 이런 것을 '서비스'라고 해야 할지, 아니면 서비스를 가장한 강도질이나 도둑질이라고 해야 할지 잘 모르겠다. 미국, 정말 미친 나라다. 돈이 모든 것을 말하는 나라. 경제 형편이 안돼 의료보험이 없는 미국 사람들은 도대체 어떻게 살아갈까?

Me: majority of the cost is on so-called "ALS1 Emergency" in the amount of 2,101 dollars, but it's completely wrong, because we didn't get any emergency service at the time. When my son got seizure at the airport, there happened to be two doctors among passengers awaiting their flight, and they did all the first aid stuff. Your emergency team arrived AFTER all the emergency treatment was completed. What you provided us was just doing some basic testing while transporting my son to the nearby hospital.

What kind of insanity is this?? Are they really an emergency service, or a thief or robber disguised as an ambulance service?
It's just an unbelievable money-gouging...I feel so disgusted.
